Travel: An Adventure Into New Worlds and Possibilities
For many, the word “adventure” harks back to the story¬books of our childhood. But amid the monotony of our daily routines, the word often feels like something we’ve left behind. Adventure means leaving the familiar, venturing out into the wider world and plunging into the unknown — and that’s where travel begins.
The Great Guide 3, Where Fear and Excitement Collide
A travel reality show in which a group sets off for new countries and remote locations with nothing but a guidebook to lead them. Season 3 pushes past travel into outright adventure, following four cast members on an extreme journey through Ethiopia and Morocco.

The original premise of The Great Guide was to have long-term foreign residents of Korea act as guides for Korean celebrities visiting their home countries. From Season 2, however, the guides stayed home, giving only guidebooks and forcing the cast to navigate on their own. That inevitably gave the trips a different flavor, encouraging the travelers to venture off the beaten path. The guidebooks point out the essential sights, foods and activities at each destination. But beyond that, the cast are free to wander. After visiting Rwanda in Season 2, they head to Ethiopia and Morocco for Season 3. Even the poster tagline hints at the challenges in store: “This isn’t a trip. It’s an adventure!”
Koreans are familiar with Ethiopia as a coffee-producing region, but it’s not on most people’s travel itineraries. The journey awaiting comedian Park Myungsoo, TV person-ality Kim Daeho, actor Choi Daniel and singer Lee Mujin is not one of luxury but of excitement. They spot crocodiles and share freshwater fish with local fishermen. An eight-hour bus ride into the hinterland brings them into contact with various tribes, including those living in very remote locations. They even visit a volcanic region known to have bubbling lava.
Morocco is just as demanding. The travelers briefly savor the intriguing atmosphere of Marrakech, with its mélange of European and Islamic influences, before braving Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains at 4,167m above sea level. The hike is physically grueling, but the experience is sure to make the pleasures of urban life all the sweeter once the cast returns home.
Perhaps such adventures are another reason we travel to new places. Living comfortably in our daily routines, it’s easy to forget the beauty found in day-to-day existence. Setting out on an adventure presents a new challenge, of course, while also allowing us to view our familiar world with fresh eyes. Through adventures where fear and excitement meet head on, The Great Guide 3 illuminates the true value of everyday life.
Moving Voices in Spain, The Freedom Found in Trying Something New
A music-travel reality show set in Mallorca, Spain. A group of musicians well known in Korea busk on local streets and out on the Mediterranean, performing songs from every genre.

Whereas The Great Guide 3 follows its cast on an adventure through grand landscapes and remote communities, Moving Voices in Spain captures the journey of talented artists baring their souls as they busk in unfamiliar locations. In the first episode, vocalists and performers Hwasa, Sohyang, Henry and An Shinae join producer and musician Cloud and guitarist Zai.ro on the streets of Mallorca, an island radiating the romance of the Mediterranean.
In Korea, the singers are each well known in their own right. But in Spain, they can’t rely on their legions of fans, dazzling lighting or carefully cali¬brated sound systems. Mallorca’s streets and plazas, while being an exotic destinations in their own right, serve as a ground for these artists to prove themselves. Their busking setlist covers timeless classics and the latest K-pop hits, along with global pop favorites — but that’s no guarantee they’ll win over audi¬ences in Spain.
Each cast member must find a way to adapt to their new surroundings. Hwasa, who is accustomed to tightly choreo¬graphed routines, dances spontaneously to the rhythm of the street. Sohyang wows passersby with the power of her raw vocal talent. Henry, exuberant as ever, mingles with locals during a dynamic live performance. Shinae draws upon her signature style to build a musical bridge with the European crowd. Cloud maintains a solid mix despite rudi¬mentary equipment and unexpected events while Zai.ro fires up the crowd with his trademark improvisation.
What initially seems like a challenge becomes a source of new experiences and inspiration for the whole cast. The unfamiliar surroundings set them free. Musical ideas that might not have emerged in their usual routines, shine brightly before a fresh audience. Aptly enough for a show titled Moving Voices, these artists are on a journey toward new possibilities.
Travel is about more than the countries we’ve visited or photographs we’ve taken in front of famous landmarks. As suggested by the journey into the unknown in The Great Guide 3 and the inspiring challenges of Moving Voices in Spain, the true value of travel lies in overcoming our limita¬tions and discovering the potential buried within our daily lives. Sometimes freedom lies just outside your comfort zone. Adventures amid natural wonders and strange places give us a fresh perspective on the convenience of city life.
So if you find yourself gazing pensively out the window at the clouds below, open yourself up to the unfamiliar yet wonderful experiences that await you. At the end of a journey full of uncertainties and thrills, you may just find a new depth and resilience within yourself.
