- Han Sungpil (b. 1972) is a visual artist working across photography, video and installation, exploring the act of discovering and reinterpreting the unknown or the misunderstood world. His practice often transcends documentation, delving into the layers of memory, identity and existence embedded within landscapes. He was awarded the Ilwoo Photography Prize in 2017 and received the CCIS New Canadian Artist Award from Calgary Arts Development in 2024, further solidifying his recognition both in Korea and internationally.
